## Critical Path Algorithm

Implements the Critical Path Method (CPM):

1. **Forward Pass** - Calculate earliest start times
   - Build dependency graph from task metadata
   - Calculate cumulative duration for each path

2. **Backward Pass** - Calculate latest start times
   - Work backwards from project completion
   - Find latest allowable start without delaying project

3. **Slack Calculation** - Identify critical vs non-critical tasks
   - Slack = Latest Start - Earliest Start
   - Critical tasks have zero slack

4. **Path Identification** - Order critical tasks chronologically
   - Build longest dependency chain
   - Identify bottlenecks and parallel work
