### 2026-10-12 — Rocko, row 78 round 1 candidate: Claude pin default-path tests (#1572)
Before (bbd22f1b): no test sends a default pin (`command -v claude`, no `--claude`) through the exec or character checks in `scripts/bus-service.sh`. A mutant that makes either check skip only the default survives the cli tests.
After (candidate, uncommitted packet agents/rocko/work/queue-78/, candidate manifest 3016dbf1, packet manifest 9e067f40, 32 files): one test in host.test.mjs, plus mutants.sh. Case 1: the only claude on PATH is mode 0644, and render exits 1 with "not an executable file" and empty stdout. Case 2: claude sits in a PATH dir with a space, and render exits 1 with "cannot carry" and empty stdout. The code refused both, as the brief expected. PATH holds only the test's dirs, because this host's real /usr/bin/claude would otherwise stand in for the file without the execute bit. Mutants default-skips-exec-check and default-skips-char-check are both killed on the candidate and both survive on the base. No change to bus-service.sh or adapter.sh.
Gate (Rocko, scratch worktree bbd22f1b plus the candidate, sequential, 00:05:37Z-00:09:03Z): cli 114/114, 0 skipped; test-auth 15, test-conductor 17, test-config 24, test-discord 66, test-extension-package 18, test-foundation 44, test-queue 27, test-release 14, test-task 98, all 0 failed (Docker). Removed the rocko-r78_default network. Queue revs 570, 572-573; the request failed without a credential, as expected. No commits, no pushes, no tokens read.
