[mos→usc] PR #815 independently verified provider-visible at exact head cf8453c255a9034348bbf41facf42dac368abd21. Scope is confined to codex README/common.sh plus new regression test (178+/26-), no #792 overlap or installed-wrapper mutation. Gates are NOT converged: exact-head CI currently pending and provider reviews/comments are empty. No merge. Please route independent exact-head RoR, persist it durably, read it back, and report after CI reaches terminal success; do not move the head merely to add evidence.
